Now in private beta

Talk like you talk. Wurd writes it clean.

Hold a key and speak Bangla, English, or both in one sentence. Let go, and clean, punctuated text appears in whatever app you’re using. Need it in English? Speak Bangla and Wurd writes polished English in the same step.

Examples of Wurd at work. Bangla → English: you say, in Bangla, “উম, আপনার অর্ডারটা কাল শিপ হবে, ট্র্যাকিং নম্বরটা আমি পরে পাঠিয়ে দেব।”. Wurd writes “Your order will ship tomorrow. I’ll send you the tracking number later.”. Banglish: you say, in Banglish, “umm na re, kal ami office e ashte parbo na. boss ke bolish meeting ta char tay korte”. Wurd writes “না রে, কাল আমি office-এ আসতে পারব না। Boss-কে বলিস meeting-টা চারটায় করতে।”. Numbers: you say, in English, “Hi Karim, uh, the total is 4,200, no, sorry, 4,520 dollars, due on the 15th.”. Wurd writes “Hi Karim, the total is $4,520, due on the 15th.”.

How it works

Three steps. No new habits.

Wurd works inside the apps you already use. There’s nothing to open and nothing to paste.

  1. Step 1

    Hold the key

fn on a Mac, Ctrl + Win on Windows, or the mic on the Wurd keyboard on your phone.

  2. Step 2

    Say it your way

Bangla, English, or both in one sentence. “Umm”, “mane” and “no wait, I mean” are all fine.

  3. Step 3

    Let go

Wurd cleans it up and puts the text where your cursor is, in any app. No copying, no switching windows.

Translate

Speak Bangla. Send English.

Translate is dictation that writes in another language. No copying into a translator, no second app, no select-then-command dance.

  • One step. Hold the translate key (or flip the keyboard to Translate), speak, let go. The English is already in the message box.
  • Polished, not literal. It reads like you wrote it in English, with your names, numbers and terms exactly as you said them.
  • Both directions. Translate writes English and Bangla, whatever you speak.

Where it works

On your computer and your phone

One account on every device. Your dictionary, snippets and stats follow you.

Mac

In testing

Hold fn to dictate, fn + ⌃ to translate.

Lives in the menu bar. The text is pasted into the app you’re in, and your clipboard is put back afterwards.

Windows

Coming soon

Hold Ctrl + Win to dictate, add Alt to translate.

Sits in the tray and pastes into the app you’re in. If an app can’t take the text (for example one running as administrator), Wurd copies it and tells you.

Android

Private beta

Switch to the Wurd keyboard, or tap the floating bubble over any app.

A full keyboard with a mic and a Dictate / Translate switch, plus a bubble you can drag anywhere. The mic stays off in password fields.

iPhone

Private beta

Add the Wurd keyboard, tap the mic and talk.

A full keyboard with Wurd on top. The first tap opens Wurd for a moment to start the mic; after that it’s tap and speak for as long as you choose.

Why Wurd

Built to be trusted with your words

Dictation is only useful if you don’t have to re-read every line. These are the rules Wurd never breaks.

It never adds words

Wurd takes out the ums, applies your “no wait” corrections and fixes punctuation. It doesn’t add greetings, sign-offs or ideas you didn’t say. If it can’t make out what you said, it writes nothing and tells you why.

umm so the meeting is uh Tuesday, no wait, Wednesday at like 10

So the meeting is Wednesday at 10.

It checks every number

Prices, phone numbers, dates and order IDs are checked against what you said, Bangla digits included. If one doesn’t match, you get your own words back with a warning, never a wrong figure.

It understands Banglish

Switch languages mid-sentence. English words can stay in English letters and Bangla in Bangla, or everything in Bangla script. You choose.

meeting-টা কাল office-এas spoken

মিটিংটা কাল অফিসেBangla script

Your words, spelled your way

Add names, places, brands and jargon to your dictionary once (100 words on Free, 2,000 on Pro). Wurd listens for them and never “corrects” them.

Snippets for the things you repeat

Say a short trigger and Wurd drops in the full text, exactly as you saved it: an address, a meeting link, a standard reply.

“my address”→House 12, Road 5, Dhanmondi, Dhaka 1205

Dictation, not a chatbot

Ask a question while you dictate and Wurd writes the question down. It never answers it for you or follows instructions inside your speech.

can you send me the report by friday

Can you send me the report by Friday?

It fits the app you’re in

Wurd knows which app you’re typing in (just its name, never what’s on your screen). Chat gets one tidy paragraph; email and documents get paragraphs, and a list when you list things out loud.ChatRunning 10 minutes late, start without me and I’ll catch up.EmailHi Nadia,
Three things for Monday:
1. The budget draft
2. The vendor list
3. Your notes from the call

Your stats

See the time you get back

Wurd counts your words, your speaking speed and the time you saved compared with typing, for Dictate and Translate separately, in the portal and in every app.

Typing speed is compared at 40 words a minute. Stats hold numbers only, never what you said.

Privacy

We don’t keep your voice. We don’t sell your words.

Wurd only needs your voice for the moment it takes to write it down. No ads, no selling your data, and Wurd doesn’t use what you say to train AI models.

  • Wurd keeps no recordings

Your audio goes to our speech-to-text provider to be written down. Wurd itself never stores it.

  • Your words stay yours

History lives on your device. Cloud history is off unless you turn it on.

  • Every provider named

We delete each transcript at our speech provider right after the dictation, and the AI step runs only on zero-data-retention endpoints.

  • No content in logs

Our logs and your stats hold counts and timings, never what you said.

  • Keys stay on our servers

Every AI call is made by our server. Your devices hold only a revocable sign-in token.

  • Leave any time

Download all your data or delete your account from the portal, in a couple of clicks.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What is Wurd?

Voice typing for every app. Hold a key (or tap the mic on your phone), speak naturally, let go, and clean text appears where your cursor is. Translate mode does the same but writes in another language, so you can speak Bangla and send English.

What is Banglish, and does Wurd really understand it?

Banglish is how many of us talk: Bangla with English words mixed in, often in the same sentence. Wurd is built for it. It recognises both languages in one recording and, by default, keeps English words in English letters and Bangla in Bangla script. You can switch to all-Bangla script in settings.

Which languages does it support?

You can speak Bangla and English, or a mix of both. Translate writes English and Bangla. More languages will follow once they meet the same quality bar.

Which devices does it work on?

Mac (hold fn), Windows (hold Ctrl + Win), Android (the Wurd keyboard and a floating mic bubble) and iPhone (the Wurd keyboard). One account works everywhere, and your dictionary, snippets and stats follow you. The Android and iPhone apps are in private beta, the Mac app is in testing, and Windows comes next.

Does it work in every app?

On a computer, anywhere you can paste: email, chat, documents, browsers, code editors, terminals. Wurd puts your clipboard back afterwards. If an app can’t take the text (for example a Windows app running as administrator), Wurd copies it and tells you. On Android the bubble works over any app; with another keyboard open it copies the text and shows a “tap to paste” notice.

Why does the iPhone keyboard open the Wurd app?

iOS doesn’t let keyboards use the microphone. When you tap the mic, Wurd opens for a moment to start it, then you go back to your app and talk. The mic stays ready for as long as you choose (5, 15 or 60 minutes, or until you stop it), so after the first time it’s just tap and speak.

Are my recordings stored?

Wurd never stores your audio. It goes to our speech-to-text provider to be written down, and we delete the transcript there right after. Your text isn’t kept on our servers either, unless you turn on cloud history (it’s off by default). Every provider that processes your audio or text is named in the Privacy Policy.

Will it change what I said?

Only the way it reads. Wurd removes filler, applies your own corrections (“no, I mean…”) and fixes punctuation. It doesn’t add content, answer questions you dictate, or “fix” names and terms in your dictionary. Numbers are checked against what you said; if anything doesn’t match, you get your original words with a warning.

Does it work offline?

No, it needs an internet connection. If the connection drops, your recording stays on your device and you can press Retry without speaking again.

How much does it cost?

New accounts get 14 days of Pro (up to 30,000 words), then the Free plan with 2,000 words a week. Pro is planned at $12 a month or $96 a year. Billing isn’t open yet, so nobody is charged during the beta.

Can I get my data out, or delete my account?

Yes. In the web portal (Settings) you can download everything as a file, delete your cloud history, or delete your account. Deleting your account removes your personal data from Wurd straight away; the Privacy Policy lists the few anonymous records we keep.

How do I get in touch?

Write to support@wurd.ai, or use Help in the portal once you’re signed in (it can attach the request ID of a dictation that went wrong).

Say it. It’s written.

Wurd is in private beta. Create your account to get your 14 days of Pro; the portal lists the apps that are ready to download, and new ones appear there as they open up.
